Birth Control Pills Ruin My Beauty

Birth Control Pills Ruin My Beauty

As usual, every morning I always prepare a cup of coffee for Mas Bagas. My husband sits casually playing his cell phone accompanied by fried bananas.

"Nita is even more beautiful," said my husband when I delivered his coffee order. He saw the photo uploaded by my neighbor.

The man glanced at me briefly then continued his words.

Don't ask how I feel when he compliments another woman in front of me. It hurts of course but I just can't stand it.

Nita is my husband's ex-girlfriend first. They broke up because Nita's parents arranged for her to marry another man.

Caca heard my daughter crying, she was asleep when I cooked earlier. Immediately I went into the room to approach him.

"Mas, please hold Caca for a while, okay? I'm frying fish, I'm afraid it will burn." I gave Caca to my husband.

"Don't you see what I'm doing, Dek? Just disturb people! Can't see people relaxing," he snapped.

"I'm afraid he'll get splashed with oil, Mas," I said.

"Turn off the stove, that's too bad. Early in the morning it just ruined the mood," Mas Bagas was angry with wild eyes.

I finally turned off my stove. I picked up the fish that wasn't fully cooked. Caca really likes to be fussy. He would cry if I put him down and shut up if I picked him up again.

My son is being active at the age of 10 months. Even though I only had one child, I was always overwhelmed. Mas Rangga also always asks to be served, even just to charge his cell phone.

"Dek, are my provisions ready yet? It's already this afternoon," asked Mas Bagas from outside.

       DEGH!!

I fell asleep for a while while breastfeeding Caca. The fish I fried was only half cooked. Not wanting to get angry again, I immediately ran to the kitchen to continue frying my fish.

"So the fish isn't cooked yet? What have you been doing all this time, huh?!" he shouted.

"Earlier you saw Caca being fussy, right, Mas. She asked for breast milk and I fell asleep," I said.

"Just excuse you, you lazy bastard!!" he cried to me.

Almost every night my husband always asked for rations, no matter when I complained of being sick or tired. He never lets me sleep if he's not asleep.

Spicy words have become my food every day. Every time the heart feels sliced by a knife. I want to fight but I don't have the courage.

Want to go back to my parents' house I can't. You don't want to know about me anymore, since I made the decision to marry him.

Father did not approve of our relationship. According to him, Mas Bagas was not a good man. When you were the guardian of my marriage, you agreed because you had to.

"Kina, hurry up!!" shouted Mas Bagas.

I ran to him with lunch box in hand. I handed over the provisions timidly.

My husband answered his lunch just like that. He left without saying goodbye let alone kissing my forehead like the husbands in the flying catfish drama.

While Caca was sleeping again, I took rice for breakfast. I eat only fried tempeh and spinach. There were only 4 fish that I fried earlier, for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Mas Bagas. Only 1 slot left for Caca.

My husband always protests when I cook potluck fish. Meanwhile, the money he gave was always mediocre. He repeatedly told me not to be wasteful, even though I was holding myself back to buy powder.

Especially for snacks, I almost never eat outside except when someone gives it to me.

       Knock!

       Knock!

       Knock!

I opened the living room door, it turned out that my mother-in-law had come. His house is only a few houses from where our house is.

"Kinan, here is porridge for Caca." Mother-in-law said while handing over the plastic bag in her hand.

"Thank you, ma'am." I replied while receiving a package from him.

"Caca is still sleeping? Have you cooked?" asked my husband's mother.

"Yes, I was sleeping again. If you want breakfast, there's fish and tempeh, spinach too." I said.

My mother-in-law opened the serving lid on the table. He saw that there was only 1 fish and tempeh.

"Kinan, later when Caca wakes up, you take her home," he said as he left the house.

I opened the plastic bag my father-in-law gave me. It turned out that there was my favorite baby porridge and bakpia cake.

       "Thank God," I thought.

I continue my pending work. After tidying up earlier, I ironed the clothes I just washed yesterday.

Not finished ironing, I saw my little daughter was stretching. I approached him and kissed him. She opened her eyes and smiled so sweetly.

After washing her, I took her to my parents-in-law's house. Apparently my mother-in-law was in the kitchen. The woman turned to see me coming.

"Kinan, Mother was cooking rawon. Bring this when you come home later," Mertu said
